ABERDEEN, S.D. –
The Northern State University Wolves needed a win and junior midfielder Maggie Fedor made sure it happened.

After 90 minutes of scoreless regulation play, Fedor, who took a game-high eight shots in Sunday's game, needed just a minute and 16 seconds of overtime to find the net for her fifth goal of the season to lift the Wolves to a dramatic 1-0 victory over the visiting Bemidji State University Beavers.

The win lifts the Wolves to 6-5-5 on the season and 4-2-3 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play, while also lifting the team into a tie for seventh in the conference standings.  BSU, meanwhile, slipped to 9-6 overall and an even 5-5 in league action, missing their chance to distance themselves from the Wolves in the ever-important standings.  NSU has four conference games left in the season, while the Beavers have just three remaining on their schedule.

NSU had several chances at a regulation goal, getting eight of their 20 shots on frame, but were unable to capitalize until the extra stanza.  Sophomore Kaylee McDonald took the ball down the right side of the field and sent a crossing pass into the middle.  Freshman Renee Gittings deflected the cross to the left side of the goal for Fedor, who sent the ball back to the right side of the net past BSU goalkeeper Samantha Ross.

The NSU defense kept the Beavers largely at bay, allowing just five shots and one shot on goal.  Junior Dee Wood made the save on that attempt, recording her seventh shutout of the season.

The Wolves go back on the road next weekend to face St. Cloud State and Concordia St. Paul in a pair of critical NSIC match-ups.  Saturday's game at the third place Huskies is set for 11 a.m., while Sunday contest against the Golden Bears is set for 1 p.m.
