ABERDEEN, S.D. – Visiting Minnesota State scored 19 points off 19 Northern State turnovers Saturday en route to a 75-64 victory over Northern State at Wachs Arena. The Wolves fall to 5-4 on the year and back to even in the conference with a 2-2 NSIC record. Minnesota State improved to 9-0 on the year and 2-0 in the NSIC.

The hot-shooting Mavericks came in to town with a #10 national ranking and looked every bit the part as they shot 50 percent from the field including 8-19 (42.1%) from long range, capitalizing on 19 Northern State turnovers for 19 points.
The Wolves shot 38 percent in the game (19-50) including 5-14 from three-point range. The Wolves out-rebounded the visitors 33-32 which gave them a 12-5 scoring edge in second-chance points.
The Wolves put three players in double figures for scoring. Sophomore
Jodi Reinschmidt led the Wolves with 16 points which breaks her previous career-high scoring night she set the night before with 15 against Southwest Minnesota State. She also recorded seven rebounds and three assists, including going 6-6 from the free-throw line.
Freshman
Emily Becken had a career-high night as well, breaking her previous high of 13 points against Bemidji State with her 14-point performance against the Mavericks. She also had two rebounds and two steals, as well as shooting 5-6 from the free-throw line.
Fellow freshman
Mikayla Barondeau was the third member of the squad in double figures as she added 12 points and four rebounds, as well as shooting 4-5 from the free throw line.
As a team, the Wolves shot 87.5 percent from the free-throw line, making 21 of 24 attempts.
This was the second game in a row that the Wolves bench failed to score at least 20 points after meeting that mark the first seven games of the year.
The Wolves are next in action on December 28-29 in Grand Junction, Colo. as they take part in the Mesa State Tournament.
