2023: Appeared in and started all 42 games for the Wolves… Recorded a .233 batting average, .349 on-base percentage, .329 slugging percentage, and a .678 on-base plus slugging percentage… Totaled 34 hits in 146 at-bats with eight doubles and two homeruns… He accumulated 13 RBI and a team-best 34 runs scored… Notched seven multi-hit games during the season, including tying a career high of three hits in a win over Emporia State with a double and RBI… On the base paths he went 5-for-7 on stolen base attempts… Tallied an .885 fielding percentage with 48 putouts and 67 assists, while helping turn five double plays…

2022: Appeared in 37 games while making 34 starts for the Wolves… Notched a .165 batting average with 13 hits, two doubles, four RBI, 11 runs scored, and one stolen base… Recorded a career high of three hits against Pittsburg State, batting 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored… Tallied a .928 fielding percentage with 51 putouts, 65 assists and nine errors…

2021: Started 24 games prior to an injury… Hit .172 with 11 hits and three doubles… Recorded ten runs scored and four RBI… Tallied an .875 fielding percentage with 27 putouts, 36 assists, and nine errors…

Pre-NSU: Austin Portner is a 5-foot-11, infielder out of Roosevelt High School and Butler Community College. As a prep, he was a 3-year starter for the Rough Riders under the direction of head coach Joel Sage. Porter was a member of the 2017 Roosevelt team who went a perfect 33-0 en route to a state championship. At BCC he appeared in 65 games, hitting .267 and .259 in his two seasons. He combined to hit nine homeruns and totaled 52 RBI for the Grizzlies. He is the son of Keith and Jeana Portner.
