Pre-NSU: Hunter Marso is a 6-foot-2, right-handed pitcher out of Brandon Valley High School and Mount Marty University. As a prep, he was a 3-year letter winner and 2-year starter for the Lynx under the direction of head coach Jeremy Vanheel. Marso helped lead Brandon Valley to a 2018 South Dakota State Championship and later earned Honorable Mention All-State in 2020. Out of high school Marso played two seasons for the Lancers, pitching 8.1 innings with a 2.35 ERA in 2021 and 10.0 innings with a 1.80 ERA in 2022. He combined to throw 25 strikeouts and nine walks during his time with the Lancers. He is the son of Tonia Thompson and Tom Marso.
