Prep: Clay Schmitz is a 6-foot-3, 195-pound wide receiver out of Perry High School. He was a 3-year starter and senior team captain for the Pumas under the direction of head coach Preston Jones. Schmitz recorded 985 yards receiving with ten touchdowns in his three seasons, adding 75 tackles, 29 passes defended, and five interceptions in his senior season. Schmitz was a 2-time All-CUSD honorable mention selection and a member of the 2018 all-region second team. The Pumas were the 2017 and 2018 Arizona 6A State Runners-up. He is the son of Ronnie and Emily Schmitz.
