2021: Appeared in all 11 games, while making nine starts for the Wolves… Rushed for 389 yards and three touchdowns on 67 attempts… Averaged 5.8 yards per carry and 35.36 rushing yards per game… Caught 21 passes for 350 yards and five touchdowns… Averaged 16.67 yards per reception and 31.82 receiving yards per game… Led the NSIC and broke the Northern State single season record with 848 kickoff return yards, and averaged 24.2 yards per return on 35 attempts… Returned ten kickoffs for more than 30 yards… Ranked second in the NSIC and 19th nationally with 139.45 all-purpose yards per game… Was named to the All-NSIC North Division First Team as a return specialist, and earned CoSIDA Academic All-District and NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence honors…

Pre-NSU: Vance Barnes is a 5-foot-9, 190-pound graduate school transfer wide receiver out of Minnesota State University. As a prep, Barnes tallied 1,287 all-purpose yards and 11 touchdowns for the Minnetonka Skippers, led by head coach Dave Nelson. He earned all-conference accolades in his final season. Barnes appeared in 12 games for the Mavericks in 2018, notching 140 yards receiving, 169 yards rushing, and 406 all-purpose yards. In addition, Barnes is a track and field second team All-American. He is the son of Kelly and Dawn Barnes.
