Pre-NSU: Marcus Placide is a 5-foot-11, 184-pound wrestler out of Minneapolis Washburn High School and Iowa Lake Community College. As a prep, Placide was a 4-year starter and 2-year team captain for the Millers. He qualified for the state tournament in 2016 and was a 3-time All-City first team selection. Placide wrestled two seasons at Iowa Lakes as a starter. He was the 2019 NJCAA National Runner-up, while ILCC took 12th in 2018 and seventh in 2019 at the national tournament.  He is the son of Carol Weissenborn and MaCherie Placide.
