Prep: Wyatt Turnquist is a 5-foot-10, 133/141-pound wrestler out of Winner High School. He was a 5-year starter and senior team captain for the Warriors under head coach Spencer Novotny. Turnquist is a 4-time state place winner taking eight in 2016, fifth in 2017, and second in 2018. Turnquist went on to win the 2019 South Dakota State Championship at 138 pounds, and led the state in nearfall points. He finished his career with 199 career wins. The Warriors finished fourth in 2017 and second in 2018 and 2019 at the South Dakota State meet. Turnquist was a nominee for the 2019 Argus Leader Wrestler of the Year and earned the Mitchell Daily Republic’s Weekend’s Best Award. He is the son of Domini and Black Turnquist.
