Pre NSU: Trefethren was a three-year starter at Fargo South under Head Coach Troy Mattern. Trefethren was a two-time All-Conference selection in high school and combined to record 15 tackles for loss and nine sacks in his junior and senior seasons. Trefethren also helped lead the Bruins to the 2013 AAA State Title.
