Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern baseball played a midweek double-header against the UMary Marauders Tuesday. The Wolves split today's games, dropping the first one in a blowout and winning a close second game.

Game One: NSU 1, MARY 11

GAME ONE: NSU 1, MARY 11
- After a scoreless first inning, the Marauders put up three in the second to take a lead they wouldn't give up
- Northern State brought in their only run of the game in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 3-1 UMary
- The Marauders piled on five more runs in the fifth and three in the sixth, closing out the scoring at 11-1 Mary
- Tyler Boyum retired three straight batters in the top of the seventh

Andrew Niaves: 1-2, 1 run, 1 RBI, home run
Casey Vining: 2-3, double
Drew Benson: 1-3, 5 put outs
Kyle Konechne: 1-2, 4 put outs
GAME TWO: NSU 6, MARY 5
- The Wolves got on the board first with two runs in the bottom of the first; Mateo Tahsini scored on a Casey Vining double, Vining touched home on a Drew Benson single
- UMary took the lead in the top of the third, scoring three runs; two of their runs were due to NSU errors
- Northern tied the ball game with an Easton Rerick home run; Collin Lott batted in Dillion Castellanos to put the Wolves back on top 4-3
- A Marauder error led to a Dalton Kesti run in the bottom of the fourth; he also brought in the Wolves' last run of the game in the sixth on a bases loaded walk, 6-3 NSU
- UMary fought back with two runs in the seventh to narrow Northern's lead to one (6-5)
- Carson Zimmel retired three of four batters in the eighth while Hyunwoo Kim took the mound in the nineth to close for the Wolves; they held the Marauders to one hit and no runs in the last two innings to secure the win
