WOLVES TRACK AND FIELD SHOWS OUT IN BROOKINGS

Brookings, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field team closed their indoor regular season at the Last Chance Meet Friday. The men and women combined for seven top placings, 23 top-3 finishes, and 20 personal bests.

HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE WOMEN
  • The Wolves dominated the pole vault with Romane Maugest getting first (3.85m), Bekah Walz taking second (3.55m) and Gitte Bellemans finishing third (3.55m)
  • Kali Norton took another of the first place finishes for Northern with her 1:41.56 600m
  • The 3000m saw Abby Hasart's 10:45.71 time take another top spot
  • With a distance of 12.82m, Grace Kuch stood atop the standings in the women's shot put
  • Getting first and a new personal record in the long jump was Alexa Fender with a 5.59m mark; she also hit a pr in the 60m, crossing the line at 7.83
  • Coming in second place in the 60m hurdles was Julia Skari with a time of 9.08; Skari also got second in the 200m in 26.54
  • Morgan Sheldon's 1.57m jump in the high jump secured her second
  • Second and third place in the triple jump went to Kamryn Schwartz and Emma Schneider with marks of 10.68m and 10.38m respectively
  • Third in the long jump went to Grace Tremelling with her 5.12m mark
 
BEYOND THE RESULTS
  • The 1 mile saw Jolie Dugan set a 5:20.81 personal best
  • Skari's 60m hurdles time earned her a personal record
  • Three women set a pr in the weight throw; Andi Mehrer (13.97m), Paige Bishop (13.64m), and Payge Bakker (12.22m)
  • Jordan West hit a pr in the women's high jump with a 1.52m mark
