Minot, N.D. –  The Northern State University baseball team took game one, 4-2, against Minot State but fell to a late rally in game two, losing 6-2. Game one was highlighted by a go-ahead two-run bomb from Brennan Phillips in the seventh inning that sealed the win for the Wolves. In game two, the Beavers mounted a late comeback, plating six runs across the sixth and seventh innings to hold off the Wolves. NSU finished the day with six runs on 17 hits, committing two errors.

• Northern State struck first as Nick Friedges knocked a single in the first inning, advancing Brennan Phillips to third, who then scored on an error
• Drew Benson followed with a sacrifice fly to center field, bringing in Dylan Soulek to give the Wolves a 2-0 lead
• After a scoreless second inning, Minot State tied the game with a two-run home run
• In the seventh inning, Phillips hit a two-run homer over the left field fence, scoring himself and Kyle Konechne to give NSU a 4-2 lead
