Tucson, A.Z. – The Northern State University baseball team fell short, 14-13, to Dakota Wesleyan in the opening game of their Arizona trip. The Wolves recorded 13 runs on 14 hits but committed three errors throughout the game. NSU briefly took the lead in the top of the ninth, only for DWU to respond with a walk-off run in the bottom of the inning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern State struck first in the top of the first inning when Drew Benson hit a double that scored Jack Weidner
- Dakota Wesleyan responded with three runs in the bottom of the first
- The Wolves regained the lead in the second inning, starting with a single from Gehrig Larrigan that scored Braden Ebeling
- Brennan Phillips followed with a double that brought in both Larrigan and Nicholas Ochoa.
- After three scoreless innings, Benson hit a solo home run over the center field wall, giving NSU a two-run lead
- The Tigers came back in the fifth, scoring eight runs to take the lead
- In the top of the eighth, AJ Mendez hit a single to center, scoring both Mateo Tahsini and Jordan Hull
- Jack Weidner followed with a single to center that scored Mendez and Ochoa, bringing the Wolves within two runs.
- In the top of the ninth, Ochoa singled to left field to score Hull followed by a bases-loaded walk to Dylan Soulek tied the game
- On an error by the Tigers, Dillon Castellanos and Ochoa scored to give NSU a two-run lead
- In the bottom of the ninth, Dakota Wesleyan won with two runs, finishing 14-13
- The Wolves recorded 13 runs on 14 hits but committed three errors
- Owen Douglas pitched 4.1 innings, striking out two while facing 25 batters
