Northern State Closes out Spring Break with Losses to Missouri Southern State

Joplin, Mo. – The Northern State University softball team fell in a pair of 8-run games on Sunday against Missouri Southern on the road. The Wolves tallied three hits in the two shutout losses against MSSU pitchers with earned runs averages below two and three.

  • Abby Rux suffered the loss in the circle for NSU, giving up six runs on seven hits, while Dessa Bryant entered to throw the final three innings of action giving up two runs, one earned, on three hits
  • The Lions scored three in the first, three in the second, one in the fourth, and one in the sixth

  • Avarie Eagle connected for the team's lone hit in the contest, a single to left in the fifth
