Bismarck, N.D. – The Northern State University men's basketball team broke away late in the second, securing their second NSIC victory of the season at the University of Mary on Thursday evening. Efficiency was key for the Wolves in the win, shooting 47.0% from the floor and 45.5% from beyond the arc with 15 made 3-pointers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Wolves out-scored the Marauders in each half, notching 41 points in the first and 46 in the second
  • Northern tallied 34 rebounds, a season high 27 assists, six steals, and one block in the win
  • They knocked down 10-of-12 from the foul line and scored a season high 27 points off the bench, 22 points in the paint, eight second chance points, and seven points off turnovers
  • Five Wolves scored in double figures in the game, led by James Glenn with 22 points, hitting 6-of-10 from the 3-point line
  • Simon Akena was second on the team and led the Wolves off the bench with a season high 16 points, knocking down 6-of-9 from the floor
  • Benjamin Bowen added 12 points, shooting at a 62.5% clip and adding a team best four steals, while Joshua Book and Nelson Reynolds notched 11 points each
  • Book led the team with seven assists, followed by Glenn and Reynolds with five a piece; the five for Reynolds was a career high for the senior
  • Book also led the team at the rim with nine rebounds, followed by Marshawn Smith with eight
  • Smith matched his rebound total, notching eight points in his third start of the season
