Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University men's basketball team fell to Minot State from Wachs Arena on Saturday afternoon; the Wolves first league loss of the season. The Beavers were efficient in the contest, shooting 66.7% from the floor and 79.0% in the second half, while the Wolves scored a game high 18 second chance points and 14 points off turnovers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Wolves trailed 43-28 at the half with an uphill battle in the second where they out-scored the Beavers 51-48
- Minot State edged out Northern State in rebounds 36-34, however the Wolves tallied a game leading 17 offensive boards
- NSU led the contest with 17 assists and 14 made 3-pointers, adding two steals
- They shot 40.8% from the floor, 35.0% from the 3-point line, and 42.9% from the foul line; knocking down just 3-of-7 foul shots
- In addition, Northern scored 32 points in the paint and 17 points off the bench
- Simon Akena and Joshua Book led the team with 24 and 23 points respectively, a season high for Akena and career high for Book
- Book led the team with five made long range buckets, shooting at a 83.35 clip
- Akena led the team at the rim with eight rebounds, matched by Ty Rogers with eight of his own, while Rogers led the team with four assists
- Book, James Glenn, and Benjamin Bowen notched three assists apiece sitting second on the team and Book and Marshawn Smith added a team second best five rebounds
- Nelson Reynolds led the team off the bench with nine points, matched by James Glenn
