Burnsville, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference released the 2024 Baseball All-Conference teams earlier today, with two Northern State Wolves honored.
Brennan Phillips earned second team accolades, while
Karson Hesser was named to the defensive team. This is the first honor of both players NSU careers.
Phillips led the Wolves offense in 2024, batting .371 with 65 hits, 15 doubles, two triples, three homeruns, 25 RBI, and 48 runs scored. He recorded a .531 slugging percentage and .458 on base percentage. In addition, the junior added 22 walks and four stolen bases. Defensively, Phillips recorded a .989 fielding percentage with 249 putouts, 25 assists, and just three errors. In games against league opponents, he ranked top-25 in season average and runs scored, top-15 in hits, and top-10 in doubles.
Hesser earned a spot on the defensive team as an outfielder. He recorded a .992 fielding percentage with 247 putouts, 16 assists, and just two errors. The senior was also no slouch offensively, sitting second on the team with a .347 average, 60 hits, 16 doubles, three homeruns, 42 RBI, and 34 runs scored.
