Wolves Baseball Drops Two Against Golden Eagles

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University baseball fell to Minnesota State, 4-1 and 0-3 to start the three-game series. A late lead by the Golden Eagles kept the win out of reach for the Wolves in game one. The Wolves were unable to find a gap in the UMC defense with two hits in game two.

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
  • Northern State was the first to score as Karson Hesser grounded out to the shortstop to score Brennan Phillips
  • Minnesota Crookston tied the game in the third inning with one run
  • The Golden Eagles took the lead in the top of the sixth with three runs
  • In the bottom of the seventh, the Wolves were unable to score after a leadoff double from Nicholas Ochoa
  • NSU tallied one run off of five hits with two errors in the contest
