Indianola/Des Moines, Iowa – Northern State University track and field teams competed at both Drake Relays and Kip Janvrin Open. Wolves competed in the100m, 110m hurdles, 400m, 400m hurdles, 4x100m relay,4x200m realy, 4x400m relay, the sprint medley, and hammer throw.
 
DRAKE RELAY MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
 

• Seth Martens placed 17^th in the 400m dash clocking a time of 48.89
• Men's 4x100m relay took 14^th finishing in a time of 42.06 with athletes Chris Weber, Joel Matehs, Noah Bayer, and Martens
• The 4x400m relay placed eighth crossing the finish line at 3:16.06 with athletes Drew Salfrank, Carter Dingman, Drew Henriksen, and Martens
• Ty Kadlec, Henriksen, Dingman, and Josh Martin ran to a second place finish in the sprint medley event with a time of 3:27.79

 
DRAKE RELAY WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
 

• Renea Taylor placed 22^nd in both the 400m hurdles and 100m dash in a time of 1:04.47 and 12.26
• Women's 4x100m relay placed 16^th in a time of 48.26 with athletes Elisabet Osk Jonsdottir, Taylor, Vanessa Christensen, and Kyanna Collymore
• The 4x200m relay placed 18^th with athletes Collymore, Osk Jonsdottir, Emma Hunt, and Christensen in a time of 1:43.77
• The 4x400m relay took 22^nd place clocking 3:58.73 with athletes Collymore, Osk Jonsdottir, Alli Jackson, and Summer Carlson
• Athletes Christensen, Osk Jonsdottir, Jackson, and Carlson took tenth in the sprint medley event in a time of 4:13.03

 
KIP JANVRIN MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

• Joel Matehs placed fourth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.79
• Nick Olson placed 13^th in the hammer throw with a mark of 47.69m

 
KIP JANVRIN WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

• Vanessa Christensen placed ninth in the 400m dash finishing in 1:00.83
• Emma Hunt ran a time of 1:09.85 in the 400m hurdles and placed 13^th
• Cassidy Gough threw a mark of 48.53m in the hammer throw and placed fourth overall

BEYOND THE RESULTS

• For the first time in school history the men's 4x400m relay qualified for finals at the Drake Relays. They will compete again tomorrow at 4:57 p.m.

The Northern State University track and field teams continue tomorrow competing at Drake Relays with athletes Carson Barnett, Levi Reis, Damon Roggenbuck, Drew Salfrank, Carter Dingman, Drew Henriksen, Seth Martens, Cassidy Gough, Morgan Sheldon, Karli Klein, Addison Cumbow, and Renea Taylor. The Wolves first event is the 100m shuttle hurdles starting at 12:02 p.m.
