Martin, Fauske Named Army National Guard Athletes of the Week

Aberdeen, S.D. - Northern State's Josh Martin (men's track and field) and Ashley Fauske (softball) are this week's South Dakota Army National Guard Athletes of the Week following their performances last weekend.
 
Martin recorded three top-2 finishes from the Al Cassell Classic on Friday. He won the 800m with a time of 1:55.25 and took second in the 1500m with a time of 4:00.93. In addition, the sophomore was a member of the winning 4x400m team with a time of 3:27.35. His times rank him fifth in the 800m and 13th in the 1500m in the NSIC standings.
 
Fauske led the Northern State starters hitting .400 in their week against Minot State and Southwest Minnesota State. She recorded a team high six hits, including one triple. The senior added two runs scored, two RBI, a sacrifice fly, and sacrifice bunt. In addition, Fauske played perfect defense with a 1.000 fielding percentage.
