Northern Softball Returns to Action on Monday

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University softball team is gearing up for ten games in the Sunshine State set for March 11-16. The Wolves will play all games from the Diamond Plex in Winter Haven, Florida. All game times listed below and on the schedule are in central time.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • The Wolves return to action following a month off from game play
  • Northern enters the trip with an 8-2 record overall
  • NSU is hitting .338 as a team with 93 hits, 18 doubles, five triples, four homeruns, 68 runs scored, and 64 RBI
  • Lexi Chae leads the Northern State offense with a .565 averaging, 13 hits, 12 RBI, and eight runs scored
  • Kyra Knudtson and Avarie Eagle follow with averages of .435 and .417 respectively, with Eagle notching a team high two homeruns alongside senior Claire Zbylut
  • The pitching staff posts a 2.56 ERA through 63 innings of work with 68 strikeouts and a .225 opponent batting average
  • Abby Rux leads the staff with a 1.56 ERA and 2-0 record, while McKenzie Wanner is 3-1 this season and leads the staff with 20.1 innings of work

NORTHWOOD UNIVERSITY STORYLINES | MARCH 11 @ 9 AM
  • The Timberwolves are mid-way through their Florida contests and hold a 7-6 record in 2024 (as of Friday afternoon)
  • Northwood is hitting .277 as a team with 96 hits, seven doubles, five triples, five homeruns, 49 runs scored, and 45 RBI
