Wolves Set New Personal Records at Alan Connie Invitational

Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Northern State University track and field teams competed in the final day of the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. The men's team scored 28 points earning 12th place and the women placed 19th with 11.5 points.
 
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
 
  • Joel Matehs finished fifth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.61 seconds
  • Drew Salfrank hit a new personal record in the 400m dash clocking 48.58 and a sixth place finish
  • Seth Martens and Carter Dingman placed 13th and 20th  in the 400m with times of 49.63 and 50.66; Turner Thorson took 32nd in 52.38
  • Dalton Fleckenstein ran the open mile in 4:31.51 to place 15th
  • Kaden St. Pierre threw a new personal record in the discuss throw with a distance of 40.86m earning an 11th place finish
  • Noah Bayer earned a new personal record in 200m placing 24th with a time of 22.35
  • Brener Conrad placed 56th in the 200m clocking 23.17
  • Eli Radtke secured a seventh place finish in pole vault with a height of 4.41m
  • The men's 4x100 meter relay consisted of Chris Weber, Matehs, Bayer, and Martens running a time of 42.10 and placing fourth
  • The men's 4x400 relay placed third with a time of 3:19.09 with athletes Salfrank, Dingman, Damon Roggenbuck, and Martens
 
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
 
  • Renea Taylor finished seventh in the 100m dash clocking a time of 12.19 seconds
  • Kyanna Collymore ran to a new personal record of 57.94 in the 400m dash to place 5th in the event
  • Andi Mehrer accomplished a new personal record in the shot put with a mark of 12.00m earning seventh place in the event; Mehrer competed in the discuss throw as well placing seventh with a mark of 40.02
  • Danielle Hawley placed ninth in shot put with a distance of 11.86m and Olivia Ashley placed 45th with a mark of 9.07m
  • Hawley and Ashley placed 16th and 33rd in the discuss throw with tosses of 36.18m and 30.52m
  • Elisabet Osk Jonsdottir and Emma Hunt placed 14th and 34th in the 400m hurdles with times of 1:09.89 and 1:22.70
  • Bekah Walz placed seventh in pole vault with a height of 3.50m
 
UP NEXT
The Northern State University track and field team will return April 5th and 6th to compete in the USD Early Bird Meet in Vermillion, SD at the Lillibridge Track Complex.
