Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Northern State University track and field teams start their 2024 outdoor season at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. The Wolves competed in day one of the invite in the decathlon, heptathlon, and men's hammer throw.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Birnir Vagn Finnsson leads the decathlon after day one after five events with 3,521 points and marks of 11.23 in the 100m, 6.57m in the long jump, 10.97m in shot put, 1.92m in the high jump, and 52.05 in the 400m
- Ross Kortenbusch sits in eighth place in the decathlon with 2,783 points and marks of 12.07 in the 100m, 5.41m in the long jump, 11.59m in shot put, 1.62m in the high jump, and 54.45 in the 400m dash
- Kaden St. Pierre placed 16th in the hammer throw with a toss of 44.23m
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Karli Klein is in ninth place in the heptathlon with 2,427 points after four events with marks of 16.40 in the 100m hurdles, 1.47m in the high jump, 10.45m in shot put, and 28.22 in the 200m
- Tayla Dobrenski follows in tenth place with 2,324 points with marks of 16.43 in the 100m hurdles, 1.53m in the high jump, 9.05m in shot put, and 29.19 in the 200m
- Jordan West sits in 15th place with 2,036 points and marks of 18.17 in 100m hurdles, 1.44m in the high jump, 9.18m in shot put, and 29.28 in the 200m
