Liberty, M.O. – An explosive offense led Northern State University baseball team to take down William Jewell, 25-16. NSU recorded four homeruns along with seven Wolves recording multiple hits in the win.
Brennan Phillips and
Jack Weidner both tied the school record for hits in a single game with five hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern State kicked of the day as Nick Friedges drove one into right center for a double to score Michael Benevides and Brennan Phillips in the first inning
- NSU added a run in the first inning with Jack Weidner's single to score Friedges to put them up by three
- Th Wolves extended their lead in the third inning as Friedges knocked the first home run of the game down the left field line; after a wild pitch, Weidner scored to extend the lead
- William Jewell recorded two runs in the bottom of fourth to trail by three runs
- Jackson Meyer kicked off the fifth inning with a fly out to right field to score Weidner; Jonah Schmidt singled up the middle to score Andrew Wedwick; Phillips drove a double down the left field line to score Jordan DeMarce and Schmidt
- Benevides added a run in the fifth inning scoring Phillips on a single, Weidner doubled down the left field line to score Friedges and Benevides; Karson Hesser was the final run to score in the fifth inning for the Wolves as Wedwick grounded out to short stop
- The Cardinals added one run in the fifth inning to trail by ten
- WJC chipped away from the deficit as they scored four runs in the sixth inning
- Wedwick knocked one over the fence for a three-run homerun to kick off the seventh inning
- In the bottom of the seventh inning, William Jewell recorded four runs to trail by five
- The Wolves started the eighth inning with a single to right center by Friedges to score Phillips and Drew Benson; Hesser singled to score Benevides; Wedwick knocked as double to bring in Hesser and Friedges to put the Wolves up by ten
- William Jewell responded back with five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning
- Northern Stated kicked off the final inning with Benson recording the third homerun of the day
- Hesser singled to score Phillips along with Weidner's homerun over the left field fence that scored Hesser
- The Wolves recorded 25 runs off of 25 hits in the win
- Drew Burkholder recorded his first win of the season in 5.0 innings pitched, four strikeouts against 25 batters
- Phillips and Weidner both tied the school record for most hits in a single game with five hits each
