Block, Holmes Named Army National Guard Athletes of the Week

Aberdeen, S.D. - Northern State's Teagan Block (wrestling) and Abbey Holmes (women's basketball) are this week's South Dakota Army National Guard Athletes of the Week following their performances last weekend.
 
Block went 4-1 for the Wolves at the NWCA National Duals. He tallied a 15-0 technical fall over Matt Englehardt of No. 1 West Liberty to kick-off the weekend. The 133-pounder added a 5-4 decision win against Jack Huffman of Augustana and upset No. 11 Ryan Wehner of Lake Erie in a 4-2 decision. He closed out his weekend with an 8-2 decision over Englehardt.
 
Holmes averaged 9.5 points per game for the Wolves against Minnesota State and Winona State. She led the team with four made 3-pointers, shooting 44.4% from beyond the arc. The senior added four assists, three rebounds, and one steal in the two games. Her 11 points against the Warriors was a career high for the guard.
