FAN PRIMER | Warriors and Golden Bears Return to Aberdeen this Weekend

Aberdeen, S.D. – The (RV) Northern State University volleyball team welcomes (RV) Winona State and No. 2 Concordia-St. Paul this Friday and Saturday in their second home weekend of 2023. Match start times are set for 6 p.m. on Friday against the Warriors and 2 p.m. on Saturday versus the Golden Bears.

(RV) NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

  • Northern State returns to Wachs Arena with a 10-2 record overall and 3-1 mark in the NSIC
  • The Wolves are receiving votes in this week’s AVCA Top-25 Poll for the first time since the fall of 2021
  • Northern is hitting .216 this season, averaging 12.3 kills, 11.5 assists, 18.3 digs, 1.6 aces, and 2.3 blocks per set

  • Sidney Paulson leads the offense with 167 total kills, averaging 3.48 per set, while Gianna Vollrath is hitting a team best .342 with 122 kills
  • Jaci Winchell has racked up 473 total assists, averaging 9.65 assists per set
  • The WSU defense is led by Ryle Vaughn with 201 digs, averaging 4.19 digs per set
  • Taylor Pagel leads the net defense with 44.0 blocks this season, followed by Jayda Berg with 31.0
  • The Warriors are led by head coach Joe Getzin in his tenth season

Entrances to the Facility & Gate Opening Times

While the Barnett Center Has numerous entrances to the facility, fans should enter through the main north doors on game day. The ticket gate, located in the Barnett Center lobby, will open one hour prior to first serve for all general admission and same day ticket sales. Individuals included in the Northern State passbook must sign in via the far right line at the main gate.  There is no re-entry into the facility.

Parking

Parking for all home Northern State volleyball contests is free for all fans in the Barnett Center main lot. Please note that the Barnett Center lot is used as a paid tailgating lot during all Northern State football home contests. On dates where football and volleyball coincide free and paid parking will be clearly marked for all fans. 

Concessions

The Northern State concession stands are operated by Sodexo and offer a wide range of options for fans of all ages. Enjoy an ice-cold Coca-Cola product, bite into a soft pretzel with cheese, a world famous Wolf dog, or walking taco. Don’t forget to grab a freshly made popcorn or batch of Wisconsin cheese curds from one of the concession stands near you at all home Wolves athletic events. New in 2023 Northern State students can use their Thunder Bucks at all Sodexo concessions stands. 

Online Ticketing

Wolves Club season tickets and general admission passes can be purchased online at nsuwolves.universitytickets.com or at the gate on game day. The fully automated system allows fans to select their seat for game day with tickets sent directly to your email or mobile device. Pricing for season and single game tickets is available at nsuwolves.com/tickets. Senior and youth tickets are only available for purchase at the gate on game days. All game day ticket sales will be available at the main entrance to the Athletic & Recreation Fields for soccer.

Current Northern State University students will receive one free ticket to all home sporting events throughout the 2022-23 academic. Information on how to claim student tickets will be distributed via email.
