NSIC Outdoor Track and Field Championships Kick Off Tomorrow

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field teams are set for the 2023 NSIC Outdoor Championships this Thursday through Saturday in St. Paul. The championships are hosted by Concordia-St. Paul from Sea Foam Stadium. Start times are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Thursday, 9 a.m. on Friday, and 11 a.m. on Saturday.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES  
WOLVES IN THE TOP-25 NATIONALLY
  • Renea Taylor is ranked in two events nationally sitting 23rd in the 100m (11.58), and 13th in the 400m hurdles (1:00.22)
 
WOLVES WITH PROVISIONAL MARKS
  • Renea Taylor has three provisional marks this season in the 100m (11.58), 200m (23.98), and 400m hurdles (1:00.22)
  • Jackson Harrison holds two provisional marks in the 5000m (14:24.47) and the 10,000m (29:51.59)
  • Sam Tremelling hit a provisional mark in the pole vault with a mark of 4.82m
  • Cassidy Gough holds a 54.04m provisional mark in the hammer
  • Kenzee Danielson cleared a provisional mark of 3.74m in the pole vault
 
SCHOOL RECORD WATCH
  • Renea Taylor broke the 100m school record set in 2017 by Hanneke Oosterwegel with a time of 11.59 at the Dutch Invite and re-broke that record at the Pacific Coast Invite with a time of 11.58
  • Taylor also tallied a school record performance in the 200m at the Pacific Coast Invite, running to a time of 23.98
  • Josh Martin broke the 17-year old school record in the 1500m at Mt. SAC with a time of 3:54.58
  • Jackson Harrison knocked down his own school record in the 5000m at Mt. SAC with a time of 14:24.47
  • Harrison added a school record in the 10,000m at the Drake Relays, running to a time of 29:51.59
