Northern State Women Lead the Pack from the Dutch Invite

Pella, Iowa – Over 40 top-10 finishes rolled in for the Northern State University track and field teams at the Central College Dutch Invite on Friday. In addition, the Wolves women added four event wins from the meet. 
 
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Noah Bayer took seventh in the 100m with a time of 11.07 and ninth in the 200m with a time of 22.87
  • Joel Matehs recorded a seventh place finish in the 110m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 15.07
  • Seth Martens and Chase Domier took fourth and seventh in the 400m with times of 49.03 and 51.15 respectively
  • Isaac Ligon ran to a fifth place finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:00.30
  • Jonathan Burkhalter and Chase Smith took fourth and ninth in the 3000m steeplechase with times of 10:11.51 and 10:54.04
  • Jacob Angerhofer added a seventh place finish in the 5000m, crossing the finish line if 16:13.89
  • Carter Moller recorded a seventh place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.85m
  • Noah Ford continued his successes in the javelin, tossing 49.71m in fourth overall
  • The 4x100m relay team of Bayer, Matehs, Isaac Olson, and Martens too second with a time of 42.48
  • Moller and Max Vande Kieft took sixth and seventh in the triple jump with marks of 12.17m and 11.49m
  • Nick Olson threw to a seventh place finish in the shot put with a 14.35m toss
  • Sam Tremelling finished as the runner-up in the pole vault, clearing 4.55m, while Eli Radtke and Isaac Ligon took third and tenth with marks of 4.40m and 3.95m
 
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Renea Taylor won the 100m with a time of 11.59, breaking the Northern State school record in the process
  • Morgan Sheldon added a seventh place finish in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.42
  • The Wolves tallied three in the top-10 of the 400m, led by Kyanna Collymore in second with a time of 59.74
  • Vanessa Klein and Alli Jackson followed in fourth and sixth with times of 1:01.36 and 1:02.55
  • Taylor added her second win of the day in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:02.83, followed by Sierra Sweeney in seventh with a time of 1:09.11
  • Northern landed another three in the top-10 of the 800m with Mary Franssen taking fifth (2:20.75), Summer Carlson taking seventh (2:21.64), and Jennifer Clark taking eighth (2:21.66)
  • Megan Pickering tallied a fourth place finish in the 1500m with a time of 4:50.38, while Jenna Helms too third in the 5000m, crossing the finish line in 20:16.64
  • Kenzie Hamann added a third place finish in the 3000m steeplechase coming in at 12:28.25
  • Cassidy Gough and Shawney Coenraad took second and fourth in the hammer, throwing 52.35m and 47.90m respectively
  • Gough went on to round out the top-10 of the javelin with a 34.06m toss
  • The 4x100m relay team of Klein, Taylor, Laci Leverty, and Collymore won the race with a time of 48.56
  • Kenzee Danielson and Laci Leverty tied for second in the pole vault clearing 3.50m, while Bethany Dybdahl took sixth clearing 3.20m
  • It was a day of threes for the women as Kilee Bladow and Emily Breske tied for third in the high jump clearing 1.55m, and Sheldon took fifth clearing 1.50m
  • Sierra Sweeney and Addison Cumbow took second and eighth in the long jump with marks of 5.22m and 4.96m
  • Sweeny closed out her day winning the triple jump with an 11.34m mark, while Kamryn Schwartz and Alison Theis took fourth and seventh with marks of 10.25m and 9.41m 

UP NEXT
Northern State returns to action next Friday and Saturday at the Sioux City Relays. Competition kicks off at 12 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday.
