Aberdeen, S.D. – After what has already been a memorable 2022-23 season for Northern State swimming, the Wolves look to garner more accomplishments at the NSIC Swimming & Diving Championships in West Fargo, North Dakota. The 4-day meet will be hosted by MSU Moorhead at the Hulbert Aquatic Center on February 8-11 this week.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
- Northern State finished the regular season with an 8-7 record in dual meets and went 6-6 against NSIC competition; the Wolves also took part in two invitationals during the season, taking first place at the Dragon Invite for the second consecutive year
- During the regular season Northern set a program record for most dual wins in a season and secured a winning dual meet record for the first time in program history
- In the final regular season meet Lilly Grebner won the individual title at the UMary Pentathlon with a combined time of 2:51.65, totaling a 7.90 second victory over the runner-up swimmer; Grebner swept all five events at the pentathlon, winning the 50-yard butterfly (26.76), 50-yard backstroke (28.22), 50-yard breaststroke (31.45), 50-yard freestyle (24.66), and the 100-yard IM (1:00.56)
- Other Wolves to place within the top-10 of the pentathlon included Haley Osborne in fifth (3:04.31), Maddie Gonzales in sixth (3:04.37), and Lauren Forsyth in tenth (3:08.04)
- Grebner holds the top time in the NSIC in the 200-yard butterfly (2:04.65), 100-yard IM (57.43), 200-yard IM (2:03.84), and 400-yard IM (4:29.70); Grebner also ranks ninth in the NSIC in the 50-yard butterfly (26.76), 11th in the 100-yard butterfly (58.15), and 14th in the 50-yard breaststroke (31.45)
- Grebner holds the top time in NCAA Division II in the 100-yard IM (57.43), ranks 12th nationally in the 200-yard IM (2:03.84), 15th in the 200-yard butterfly (2:04.65), and 31st in the 400-yard IM (4:29.70)
- Grebner holds NCAA B-Cut times in the 200-yard butterfly (2:04.65), 200-yard IM (2:03.84), and 400-yard IM (4:29.70)
- Forsyth ranks second in the NSIC in the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.70), sixth in the 100-yard butterfly (57.38), and seventh in the 50-yard butterfly (26.67)
- Other swimmers to rank within the top-15 of the NSIC include Delaney Ryken who is 13th in the 50-yard freestyle (24.04) and Gonzales who is 14th in the 200-yard backstroke (2:11.79)
- Through 11 meets this season Northern has claimed 47 individual wins, 111 individual top-3 finishes, and nine relay wins
- Grebner has a team-best 29 individual wins and 31 top-3 finishes this season; other NSU swimmers to win individual events this season include Maddie Gonzales (5), Haley Osborne (5), Lauren Forsyth (3), Mayson Sheldon (2), Delaney Ryken (1), Hannah Rodts (1), and Brianna Back (1)

LAST SEASON'S NSIC CHAMPIONSHIPS
- Northern State placed sixth in the 2022 NSIC Swimming & Diving Championships with 221 team points
- Three swimmers earned all-conference honors for the Wolves last season, the most since 2017, as Maddie Gonzales earned a second place finish in the 200-yard backstroke, Haley Osborne earned a third place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, and Lauren Forsyth earned a third place finish in the 200-yard butterfly
