Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State's Reece Ragatz (baseball) and Renea Taylor (women's track & field) have been named as the South Dakota Army National Guard Athletes of the Week for their athletic efforts last week.

Ragatz went 3-for-8 at the plate and held a .375 batting average this weekend in games against Central Oklahoma, Emporia State, and Pittsburg State. In this weekend's three games he tallied one walk, one triple, two homeruns, seven RBI, and three runs scored. He also recorded a 1.775 OPS percentage, 1.375 slugging percentage, and a 0.400 on-base percentage. In Saturday's win over ESU, Ragatz went 2-for-3 at the plate with one triple, one homerun, five RBI, and two runs scored against the Hornets.

Taylor recorded two provisional marks at the NDSU Bison Open this weekend. She won her preliminary heat of the 60m and placed second in the finals with a time of 7.56, breaking her own school record and moving up to 20th in the nation. Taylor added a runner-up finish in the 200m with a time of 25.01, moving up to 18th nationally in the event. She closed out her day with a third place finish in the 400m, crossing the finish line in 58.47.
