Fan Primer: Wolves Look to Break Attendance Record Friday, Welcome Mavericks Saturday

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University volleyball team returns home this Friday and Saturday versus No. 3 Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State. Match times are set for 6 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday in Wachs Arena. Full fan and game information can be found below.

Game Specific Promotions

  • Northern State looks to break their single match attendance record on Friday versus Concordia-St. Paul
    • Prizes will be given out after each set, including a 55 inch TV
    • All students in attendance will receive DOUBLE Howling Wolves points

 

Online Ticketing

Wolves Club season tickets and general admission passes can be purchased online at nsuwolves.universitytickets.com or at the gate on game day. The fully automated system allows fans to select their seat for game day with tickets sent directly to your email or mobile device. Pricing for season and single game tickets is available at nsuwolves.com/tickets. Senior and youth tickets are only available for purchase at the gate on game days. All game day ticket sales will be available at the main entrance to Wachs Arena inside the Barnett Center for volleyball.

Current Northern State University students will receive one free ticket to all home sporting events throughout the 2022-23 academic. Information on how to claim student tickets will be distributed via email. 

 

Entrances to the Facility & Gate Opening Times

While the Barnett Center as numerous entrances to the facility, fans should enter through the main north doors on game day. The ticket gate, located in the Barnett Center lobby, will open one hour prior to first serve for all general admission and same day ticket sales. Individuals included in the Northern State passbook must sign in via the far right line at the main gate.  There is no re-entry into the facility.

 

Parking

Parking for all home Northern State volleyball contests is free for all fans in the Barnett Center main lot. Please note that the Barnett Center lot is used as a paid tailgating lot during all Northern State football home contests. On dates where football and volleyball coincide free and paid parking will be clearly marked for all fans. 

 

Concessions and Team Store

The Northern State concession stands are operated by Sodexo and offer a wide range of options for fans of all ages. Enjoy an ice-cold Coca-Cola product, bite into a soft pretzel with cheese, a world famous Wolf dog, or walking taco. Don’t forget to grab a freshly made popcorn or batch of Wisconsin cheese curds from one of the concession stands near you at all home Wolves athletic events. In addition, Sodexo supports local non-profits through a variety of opportunities. Contact NSU Dining Services at 605-626-2928 to learn more. 

The NSU Nike Team Store will be open in its main Barnett Center location on game day. The Barnett Center location opens one hour prior to first serve for all home contests. 

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

  • The Wolves return to Wachs Arena with a 7-5 record overall and 2-2 mark in the NSIC
  • Northern is hitting .260 this season, averaging 12.9 kills, 11.9 assists, 12.7 digs, 2.0 aces, and 2.2 blocks per set
  • NSU is holding their opponents to a .215 attack percentage and they lead the NSIC in aces this season
  • Sally Gaul sits atop the NSIC in kills per set, averaging 4.22 with 156 total and a .268 attack percentage
  • Keri Walker is pacing the offense with 399 total assists, averaging 10.78 per set, with a team leading 17 aces
  • Madison Langlie matches Walker’s ace total of 17 and leads the Wolves defense with 150 digs, averaging 4.05 per set
  • Abby Brooks leads the team at the net with 41.0 total blocks this season

 

#3 CONCORDIA-ST. PAUL STORYLINES

  • The Golden Bears hit the road with a 10-2 record overall and 3-1 record in the league
  • Concordia is hitting .261 this season, averaging 15.2 kills, 14.3 assists, 15.1 digs, 1.9 aces, and 1.9 blocks per set
  • Jasmine Mulvihill leads the offense with 193 kills, averaging 4.5 per set, while Kennedy Brady is hitting a team best .338
  • Teagan Starkey paces the CSP offense with 421 total assists, averaging 12.76 per set
  • Ellie Sieling leads the team with 149 digs and 19 aces in 2022, while Katie Mattson leads CSP at the net with 40.0 total blocks
  • CSP is led by head coach Brady Starkey in his 20th season at the helm 

 

LAST MATCH-UP

  • Northern defeated Concordia-St. Paul 3-0 on the road in 2021
  • NSU recorded a match high 38 kills, 44 digs, ten blocks, and five aces
