Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State University Director of Athletics, Nate Davis announced today the hiring of Jacob Wiedrich as the Coordinator of Athletic Marketing and Events. A Northern State alum, Wiedrich returns to Aberdeen following stints with the Fargo Force and Alternative Corrections. He will begin his duties on May 31.
 
"We are excited for Jacob to return to his roots here in Aberdeen and hit the ground running," noted Davis. "Jacob stood out in the interview process with his experience in the USHL and ties as a student-athlete to the department. I look forward to Jacob building our game day experience for all 15 intercollegiate programs."
 
Wiedrich's role will focus primarily on the coordination of all game operations for the athletics department and assist with various athletics related special events. In addition, he will fulfill marketing and sponsorship agreements, assist with ticket sales and customer service initiatives, and will work to increase student and overall fan attendance at Wolves events.

Most recently, Wiedrich served as the Operations Assistant at Alternative Corrections in Moorhead. He worked directly with clients in regards to device monitoring, education, reporting, and maintenance.
 
Wiedrich spent one season with the Fargo Force beginning in May of 2019 as a Sales Executive. With the Force, he increased the team's revenue generation and supported the execution of game day events and operations. Wiedrich was instrumental in growing fan attendance, as the Force saw four straight sell out contests. In addition, he spearheaded the College Crew Program, promoting attendance for college students at games.
 
Wiedrich is a 2019 graduate of Northern State University, earning a bachelor's degree in Business Marketing with a minor in Sports Marketing and Administration. He was also a member of the Wolves football program as a kicker/punter and a pole vaulter on the track and field team. Wiedrich appeared in 36 games for NSU, and holds the school records for most punts in a game, most punting yards in a game, and average yards per punt in a career. He was selected to the NSIC All-Conference second team in both 2016 and 2018. In the pole vault, Wiedrich tallied a personal best of 4.53m at the 2019 NSIC Indoor Championships, taking ninth overall.
