Track and Field Grabs Four All-Conference Honors on Friday

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field teams advanced four student-athletes to finals and tallied 11 podium finishes on the first full day from the NSIC Outdoor Championships. In addition, the Wolves recorded four all-conference performances and one conference championship.
 
Northern sits in eight overall in the women's standings with 18 points and fifth in the men's standings with 36 points.
 
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Luke Schroeder will be in the finals of the 110m hurdles, notching the fourth fastest time of 15.02
  • Chase Domier qualified for the 400m with a time of 49.67 in eight overall, while Seth Martens tallied a ninth place finish with a time of 50.11
  • Schroeder also holds the fastest time in the 400m hurdle prelims, crossing the finish line in 55.02
  • Jackson Harrison ran to a fourth place finish in the 10,000m, just missing all-conference honors with a time of 31:57.87
  • Northern tallied three podium finishes in the hammer led by NSIC Champion Tanner Berg with a 64.27m provisional toss
  • McCaden Anderson and Nick Olson followed in fourth and sixth with throws of 51.06m and 49.56m
  • Berg opened his day with a third place and all-conference honor in the shot put, tossing 16.58m
  • Jackson Willis finished with an all-conference performance in the decathlon, taking third with 5,742 points
  • Willis closed out competition with marks of 17.37 in the 110m hurdles, 24.64m in the discus, 3.78m in the pole vault, 36.83m in the javelin, and a time of 4:48.01 in the 1500m
  • Sean Juengst added an eighth place finish in the decathlon with 5,424 points, notching marks of 18.25 in the 110m hurdles, 27.68m in the discus, 3.48m in the pole vault, 42.85m in the javelin, and a time of 4:49.85 in the 1500m
 
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Shanice Burrell advanced to finals in the 100m hurdles with the third fastest time of 13.93 (provisional mark)
  • Megan Mooberry was the first point scorer of the day for the Wolves, taking fifth in the 10,000m with a time of 37:29.41
  • Cassidy Gough added a top-8 finish in the hammer, tossing 50.20m in sixth overall
  • Kealy Hill tallied the first women's all-conference honor, taking third in the pole vault with a 3.94m provisional jump
  • Kenzee Danielson followed behind Hill in fourth, clearing a provisional mark of 3.74m
 
UP NEXT
Action from the final day of the NSIC Championships opens at 9 a.m. from the Barnett Center with the men's pole vault. Field events will begin at 11 a.m. and the running events will kick off at 1 p.m. tomorrow from the Swisher Activities Complex.
