Mankato, Minn. – In what was supposed to be the first day of a three-game home series, the Northern State baseball team remained the home team on the scoreboard but was forced to play road games at current NSIC leader Minnesota State because of potential weather in Aberdeen. The Wolves dropped both games of the doubleheader today by scores of 8-0 and 5-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1
- Minnesota State grabbed the lead immediately in the top of the first inning with three early runs, and they pushed the game out of reach in the sixth inning with five more runs
- Northern State left multiple runners on base in the third, fourth, and sixth innings; runners reached third base in all three of those innings
- The Wolves totaled four hits and did not commit an error in the game defensively
- Brian Baker recorded his fifth start of the season and suffered his second loss of the season; Baker went 5.1 innings on the mound, allowing seven earned runs off seven hits and four walks, he threw five strikeouts in the game
- Drew Talberg, Brenden Baxter, and Taite Hensley pitched 1.2 innings in relief, allowing three hits and one earned runÂ

- Minnesota State again scored early in the second game, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning; the Mavericks also added one run in the third and seventh innings
- Niko Pezonella hit the first extra base hit of the day for Northern State in the bottom of the fifth inning
- The Wolves attempted to get a rally going in the bottom of the ninth when Spencer Sarringar hit a double to right center to start the inning; Ramon Vega Jr. added a single to put runners on first and third base with only one out, but the Mavericks recorded two consecutive strikeouts to end the game
- The Wolves totaled seven hits in the game and committed one error defensively
- Michael Chevalier recorded his third start of the season and suffered his first loss of the season; Chevalier went 5.0 innings on the mound, allowing four earned runs off nine hits and three walks, he threw three strikeouts in the game
- Mike Stubbs and Zach Carolin each threw 2.0 innings in relief on the mound, combined the two did not allow any earned runs off only four hits
