Box Score 2 Mankato, Minn. – The Northern State University softball team dropped a pair of contests to Minnesota State on Saturday afternoon. After a run-rule loss in game one, the Wolves held the Mavericks to just one run in game two.

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
- Minnesota State opened the game with three runs in the bottom of the first and did not look back
- The Mavericks added four more runs in the second and two in the fourth, sealing the run-rule victory
- Northern plated one run in the top of the fifth on a first and third situation, where Alexandria Arndt scored on a throwing error by the catcher
- Hannah Smith recorded Northern's two hits in the contest
- Reagan Elrod started for the Wolves and suffered her seventh loss of the season, giving up five earned runs on six hits

- The Mavericks scored their only run of the contest in the bottom of the fifth, notching just three runs in the game
- Avarie Eagle recorded Northern's lone hit in the contest, a double
- Meghan Anderson threw a gem for the Wolves, giving up just one run on three hits with eight strikeouts
- Anderson tied her single season school record in the game, notching her 189th strikeout of the season

The Wolves travel to Concordia-St. Paul tomorrow. First pitch is set for 12 p.m. in St. Paul. Northern will then host the University of Mary on Wednesday at 1 and 3 p.m. from Koehler Hall of Fame Field. The game was previously scheduled for Tuesday in Bismarck.
