Track and Field Adjusts Schedule, Heads to Northwestern and Drake

Aberdeen, S.D. – Due to the forecasted weather in the Dakotas, the Northern State University track and field team has adjusted their week competition schedule. Northern was previously scheduled to compete at Jamestown and Dickinson State on Thursday and Friday.
 
The Wolves will now take on the pole vault at the Red Raider Open on Wednesday and will have a small group of competitors take on the Jim Duncan Invite on Friday. Meet information links will be posted to the schedule pages on nsuwolves.com when they become available.
 
NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • The Wolves are coming off a solid weekend at the Jo Meaker Classic with 34 top-10 finishes between the men and women
  • Jackson Harrison won the 10,000m, running to a time of 30:43.14
  • Rachel Guthmiller won the javelin with a 43.19m toss
  • Tanner Berg won the hammer throw with a new school record mark of 69.55m
  • In addition, the Wolves broke two school records at the meet
 
SCHOOL RECORD WATCH
  • Tanner Berg broke his own school record in the hammer throw, tossing 69.55m at the Jo Meaker Classic
  • Glen Quayle vaulted 4.92m at the USD Early Bird, breaking the outdoor record held by coach Wade Royer
  • Shona Juliana broke her own school record in the long jump at the Jo Meaker Classic, jumping 5.80m
