Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State University Athletics and Northern State softball are gearing up for the inaugural game from Koehler Hall of Fame Field on Tuesday, March 29
th. The Wolves will face MSU Moorhead in a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m. with a variety of events scheduled from the facility.
The inaugural game will feature a pre-game tailgate, as well as events for students and community members throughout the day. The pre-game tailgate kicks off at 10:30 a.m. in the Kessler's Champions Club Room full details outlined below. Those attending the tailgate are encouraged to enter through the main softball gate, purchase their tickets for the contest, and then proceed to the Champions Club Room. The first 150 fans in the gate on game day will receive a commemorative Koehler Hall of Fame Field Inaugural Game mini bat.
Inaugural Game Tailgate
The event features free food and beverages for all fans. The brunch themed tailgate includes breakfast burritos, breakfast pizza, muffins, donuts, water, coffee, and a variety of juices.
Northern State Student Promotions
NSU students in attendance on game day will have the opportunity to win a number of prizes, including Apple Air Pods and an Apple Watch. Drawings and games for the student prizes will be held between games one and two and following the completion of the doubleheader.
Ticket Information
Tickets for all home softball and baseball contests will be available for purchase at the gate on game days. Gates will open one hour prior to first pitch. Tickets are $5 with kids 5 and under admitted for free. Wolves Club season ticket holders will need to give their name to the ticket seller to be granted admittance to the event. Tickets for all home softball games will be sold at the main gate of Koehler Hall of Fame Field, just south of Dacotah Bank Stadium.
All tickets sold at Koehler Hall of Fame Field and Fossum Field are general admission, with seats filled on a first come, first serve basis.
Parking Options
Fans will be permitted to park in the Dacotah Bank Stadium and Koehler Hall of Fame Field lot for free on game days.
Concessions
The concessions stand, located above the third base dugout, will be open one hour prior to the first pitch of all home contests at Koehler Hall of Fame Field, and will close at the fifth inning of the second game.
Koehler Hall of Fame Field – The Facility
Koehler Hall of Fame Field and the Regional Sports Complex are one of three projects included in the Educational Impact Campaign. Koehler Hall of Fame Field is the preeminent softball stadium in the Upper Midwest and one of the finest NCAA Division II facilities in the entire country. Named in honor of a generous lead gift from NSU alumnus Jim Koehler, the Field consists of an all-synthetic turf field, in-ground dugouts, bullpens and batting cages, chair back seating, multiple berms surrounding the stadium, and a media / suite area directly behind home plate. The facility officially opened in the fall of 2021. Pets are not permitted in the facility unless they are a certified service animal.
