Northern State Softball Heads West for Spring Break

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University softball team will spend their spring break playing six games versus RMAC opponents in Nebraska and Colorado. The Wolves take to the road for contests versus Chadron State at 12 and 2 p.m. on March 14, CSU Pueblo at 6 and 8 p.m. (CT) on March 15, No. 23 Colorado Mesa at 6 and 8 p.m. (CT) on March 16, and Metro State at 1 and 3 p.m. (CT) on March 17.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • The Wolves enter the week with a 6-8 record overall
  • Northern is hitting .306 as a team with 119 hits, 14 doubles, three triples, ten homeruns, ten stolen bases, 57 RBI, and 62 runs scored
  • Six of the Wolves starting nine are hitting above .300 this season
  • Liv Richardson leads the starters with a .375 average, 18 hits, and four doubles; she is slugging .521 with nine RBI as well
  • Avarie Eagle leads the squad with 12 RBI, three homeruns, and a .581 slugging percentage, while Alexandria Arndt has scored a team best nine runs

CHADRON STATE STORYLINES
  • The Eagles are 3-15 currently and will face Colorado Christian in a 4-game series over the weekend
  • CSC is hitting .267 as a team with 129 hits, 15 doubles, three triples, nine homeruns, 23 stolen bases, 68 RBI, and 70 runs scored
  • Five starters are hitting above .300 this season for Chadron State
  • Jessie Henchenski and Mackenzi Kroll lead the team hitting .364 and .355 respectively
