Aberdeen, S.D. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2022 Academic All-District teams for women's soccer Tuesday afternoon with two Northern State athletes earning accolades.
Lilja Davidsdottir and
Hannah Smith are both earning the honor for the first time in their careers and will be on the ballot for the CSC Academic All-America honors set to be announced in December.
Davidsdottir has earned a 3.7 GPA as a Human Performance and Fitness Major at Northern State University. As a graduate student on the women's soccer team, she spearheaded the Wolves defense to nine shutout wins and 11 total shutouts. The NSU defense only gave up multiple goals on three occasions this past season, surrendering only 0.63 goals per game. Davidsdottir was named All-NSIC First Team for the second consecutive season earlier this month.
Smith has earned a 4.0 GPA as a Psychology Major at Northern State University. As a redshirt-freshman she scored eight goals and added one assist for 17 points, leading the Wolves in both goals and points this season. In NSIC action she tied for second in the league in goals, tied for third in game-winning goals, and was fourth in points. Earlier this month Smith earned All-NSIC First Team honors and was recognized as the NSIC Freshman of the Year.
