ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State's Payton Eue (football) and Alexus Townsend (soccer) have been named as the South Dakota Army National Guard Athletes of the Week for their athletic efforts last week.
 
Eue scored ten points for Northern State in their overtime contest at No. 2 Minnesota State. He went 2-for-3 in field goal attempts and 4-for-4 in PATs. The junior hit a career long field goal of 50-yards at 1:34 in the second quarter. In addition, Eue averaged 62.0 yards per kick-off and 36.6 yards per punt. He leads the NSIC in made field goals and has the longest make of the season.
 
Townsend led Northern State to a 1-0 win over Montana State Billings in their season opener. She tallied ten saves in the game, facing 15 total shots. The freshman earned the first shut-out of her career, playing all 90 minutes.
