HOW IT HAPPENED
- Roughly six minutes into the game Lilja Davidsdottir made a great play to break up a Wayne State pass into the box and NSU avoided an early scoring threat
- Off a Wildcat corner kick opportunity in the 11th minute, Alexus Townsend made a reaching save to stop a shot from Chloe Schlines
- Northern's best scoring opportunity of the first half came in the 17th minute, when Megan Fastenau started a break away attempt before having the ball knocked away in the box
- Wayne State was able to get the first goal of the game with 30 seconds remaining in the first half, with a penalty kick goal by Payton Haliburton
- NSU tied the game in the 51st minute when Megan Fastenau headed a goal into the net off a free kick from Teya Trujillo
- In the 54th minute off a Wolves corner kick, Lilja Davidsdottir gained control of the lose ball and was able to send it into the right corner of the net for the game-winning goal
- Northern State held the advantage offensively, out-shooting Wayne State 11-6 and 6-4 in shots-on-goal
