Sioux Falls, S.D. – The Northern State defense stepped up on Sunday afternoon to keep the game close throughout and earn a 1-1 draw against Augustana. Today's tie snapped a nine-game win streak in the series for Augustana.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Vikings thought they were able to get on the board first with a goal in the 49^th minute, however a foul in the box negated the goal and left the game tied 0-0
• Augustana scored the first goal of the game in the 64^th minute with a goal by Sierra Barkus going into the top-left corner of the net, off an assist from Grace Douglas
• Northern tied the game in the 81^st minute on a free kick as Teya Trujillo connected with Lilja Davidsdottir; Augustana goalkeeper Jillian Barkus was able to briefly get a hand on the ball, but it bounced directly to Davidsdottir who headed it into the net
• AU controlled the game offensively out-shooting NSU 28-7, 11-2 in shots-on-goal, and held the advantage in corner kicks 7-4
