Northern Baseball Closes Out the Regular Season at UMary

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University baseball program will close out the regular season this Friday and Saturday on the road at UMary. First pitch is set for 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. on Friday and 12 p.m. on Saturday. The Wolves look to clinch a spot in the NSIC Tournament with the weekend series.
 
GAME & FAN INFORMATION
  • Admittance is free to the general public and is limited to the first 100 spectators
    • An additional amount of fans will also be admitted if they are on the Visiting Fans list determined by the opposing head coach
  • Masking is required for all spectators in attendance regardless of state and local guidance

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • The Wolves enter the weekend with a 15-19 record overall and 14-16 mark in the NSIC, currently sitting eighth in the league standings
  • Northern is hitting .261 as a team with 264 hits, 54 doubles, eight triples, 25 homeruns, 153 RBI, and 174 runs scored
  • Karson Hesser leads the attack with a .319 average, while Justin Hutter has tallied a team high 33 hits
  • Spencer Sarringar leads the team with 23 RBI and 20 runs scored
  • The Northern State staff posts a 5.87 ERA through 254.2 innings pitched with 268 strikeouts and a .274 opponent batting average
  • Seth Brewer has a team low 2.85 ERA, holding a 6-1 record on the year with 72 strikeouts
  • Mike Stubbs and Zach Hartford are the top relievers for the Wolves with a combined four wins and 46 strikeouts
 
UNIVERSITY OF MARY STORYLINES
  • The Marauders enter the weekend with an 18-18 record overall and 15-14 mark in the NSIC, sitting seventh in the league standings
  • UMary is hitting .263 with 293 hits, 61 doubles, eight triples, 43 homeruns, 188 RBI, and 210 runs scored
  • Calvin James leads the team hitting .379 this season with 50 hits, 13 doubles, nine homeruns, 32 RBI, and 32 runs scored
  • The Marauder staff posts a 5.91 ERA through 281.2 innings pitched with 287 strikeouts and a .269 opponent batting average
  • Jonathan Draheim leads the team with a 6-1 record on the year and 38 strikeouts
  • Andrew Brooks and Austin Wagner each have two wins and 30 strikeouts, and hold the lowest ERAs on staff at 1.80 and 2.30
  • UMary is led by head coach Tanner Spencer in his second season at the helm
