NEW ORLEANS - The USTFCCCA released on Friday their 2021 All-Region honorees for the outdoor season with five Northern State Wolves listed.
Tanner Berg and
Riccardo Done represented the Wolves men in the hammer throw and steeplechase, while
Tava Berg,
Shanice Burrell, and
Jordyn Huneke represented the women in the high jump, 100m hurdles, and the pole vault.
Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team.
Berg finished as the NSIC runner-up in the hammer throw, notching all-conference accolades. He tossed 60.90m (199-10.00) at the conference meet and threw a school record 68.60m (225-01.00) earlier this season. The Watertown native will compete in the event at the NCAA Outdoor Championships this week.
Done was the NSIC runner-up in the steeplechase, running to a national provisional time of 9:08.88. The time was a personal best for the graduate student.
Berg took second in the high jump at the NSIC Championships, jumping 1.68m (5-06.00). She broke the school record in the event at the Wildcat Challenge, notching a mark of 1.73m (5-08.00). The Watertown native will compete in the event at the NCAA Outdoor Championships this week.
Burrell took fourth in the 100m hurdles at the NSIC Championships, running to a personal best of 13.94. She broke the school record with that time and hit a national provisional mark.
Huneke was the runner-up at the NSIC Championships, clearing 3.86m (12-08.00) behind teammate
Kealy Hill. The sophomore broke the school record twice this spring, jumping 4.07m and 4.10m (13-05.25). She will compete in the event at the NCAA Outdoor Championships this week.
