Northern State Softball Versus UMary Pushed Back to Thursday

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University softball doubleheader versus the University of Mary has been pushed back to Thursday due to poor weather in the area on Wednesday. The Wolves and Marauders will face off at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. from the Presentation College Dome.

  • Fan will be permitted into the facility, however interaction with the participating student-athletes and coaches is prohibited
    • Fans must remain distanced from the team dugout areas
  • Facial coverings and social distancing are encouraged

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • The Wolves open the 2021 NSIC home slate with a 12-8 record overall and 3-3 record in the league
  • Northern is hitting .323 as a unit, notching 171 hits, 26 doubles, one triple, 20 homeruns, 94 RBI, and 101 runs scored
  • Kennady Thompson leads the team with a .452 average, belting 28 hits and 18 RBI
  • The NSU staff posts a 3.77 ERA through 124.1 innings pitched with 154 strikeouts and a .270 opponent batting average
  • Elyse Cuttic and Meghan Anderson each have six wins this season, with Cuttic notching a team best 2.91 ERA and .261 opponent average
  • Anderson has struck out a team leading 81 batters this season
 
UNIVERSITY OF MARY STORYLINES
  • The Marauders enter the week with a 2-17 record overall and 1-5 mark in the Northern Sun
  • UMary is hitting .241 on the year, notching 119 hits, 18 doubles, two triples, four homeruns, 32 RBI, and 37 runs scored
  • Mariah Sanchez and Eryn deJonge lead the team hitting .354 and .306 respectively with a combined 38 hits
  • The Marauder staff posts an 8.08 ERA through 114.2 innings pitched with 72 strikeouts and a .335 opponent batting average
  • Alissa Alvarado and Brooke Harder have each thrown a win this season, with Alvarado notching a staff best 5.93 ERA and 27 strikeouts
  • Mary is led by head coach Steph Roan in her first season at the helm
