Wolves Close Out Games from Fossum Field versus St. Cloud State

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University baseball team closes out their home slate this Saturday and Sunday hosting St. Cloud State. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. on Sunday. Northern will recognize their five seniors prior to Sunday's first pitch.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • The Wolves enter the weekend with a 15-16 record overall and 14-13 mark in the NSIC, sitting seventh in the league standings
  • Northern is hitting .267 with 246 hits, 49 doubles, eight triples, 23 homeruns, 141 RBI, and 162 runs scored
  • Reece Ragatz leads the team with a .338 average, followed by Spencer Sarringar and Ramon Vega Jr. hitting .316 and .314 respectively
  • Sarringar has a team high 23 RBI and 19 runs scored, while Vega leads the team with 14 extra base hits
  • The Wolves pitching staff posts a 5.45 ERA through 231.0 innings pitched with 244 strikeouts and a .263 average
  • Seth Brewer leads the staff with a 2.45 ERA, 6-1 record, and 65 strikeouts
  • Zach Hartford and Mike Stubbs have found success in relief appearances, notching a combined four wins
 
ST. CLOUD STATE STORYLINES
  • The Huskies head to Aberdeen with a 16-11 record overall and 14-8 mark in the league, sitting fourth in the NSIC standings
  • SCSU is hitting .319 on the year with 281 hits, 52 doubles, nine triples, 31 homeruns, 188 RBI, and 208 runs scored
  • Jake Shusterich and John Nett lead the team hitting .392 and .375 respectively this season, with Nett notching a team best 36 hits and 36 runs scored
  • The Husky pitching staff posts a 4.00 ERA through 216.0 innings pitched with 219 strikeouts and a .234 opponent batting average
  • Jack Habeck leads the staff with a 2.01 ERA and 6-1 record
  • Matt Osterbeg leads the team with 44 strikeouts and posts a 2.97 ERA and two wins
  • St. Cloud State is led by head coach Pat Dolan in his 14th season at the helm
 
LOOKING BACK TO 2020
  • Northern went 1-2 prior to last season's cancellation, defeating the Huskies in their final game of the season
  • The Wolves fell 9-0 and 3-1 from US Bank Stadium, however defeated St. Cloud 11-7 in Florida
