Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field teams will host their lone home meet of the 2021 outdoor season tomorrow from Swisher Field. Competition kicks off at 12 p.m. with the field events. The Wolves welcome athletes from Jamestown, Southwest Minnesota State, Minnesota Morris, Dakota Wesleyan, UMary, Concordia Moorhead, Valley City State, St. John's, MSU Moorhead, South Dakota State, and Minot State to Aberdeen.
MEET & FAN INFORMATION
- Fan will be permitted into the facility, however interaction with the participating student-athletes and coaches is prohibited
- No spectators will be allowed on the infield or in any competition area
- Facial coverings and social distancing are encouraged
- Admission for all fans is $5 for the meet

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
- The Wolves are coming off competition at the Sioux City Relays with a smaller group of student-athletes
- Top-5 finishers for Northern is Sioux City included Jordyn Huneke (pole vault), Rachel Guthmiller (javelin), Emma Rezac (400m), Tanner Berg (shot put, hammer throw), Kelson Brewer (400m hurdles), Brady Janssen (400m hurdles), and Jackson Harrison (10,000m)
- Megan Mooberry led the Wolves with an event win in the 10,000m, running to a time of 37:20.40
- Riccardo Done was the top finisher for the NSU men, taking second in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:28.99
NATIONALLY RANKED WOLVES
- Shanice Burrell is 17th nationally in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.22
- Tava Berg is ranked 12th in the high jump with a 1.70m (5-07.00) provisional mark
- Jordyn Huneke ranks sixth in the pole vault with a national provisional mark of 4.07m (13-04.25)
- Tanner Berg is ranked fourth in the hammer throw with a provisional mark of 65.83m (216-0.00) and 24th in the shot put with a provisional mark of 16.95m (55-07.50)
SCHOOL RECORD WATCH
- Tanner Berg broke his own hammer throw record at the USD Early Bird Meet, throwing 65.83m (215-11.75); his previous record set in 2019 was 61.60m
- Jorydn Huneke broke Alli Arampatzis' pole vault record of 3.90m set in 2011, with a 3.91m (12-10.00) vault at the SD Challenge; she then re-broke the record at the Sioux City Relays, clearing 4.07m (13-04.25)
