Aberdeen, S.D. – Two gems were thrown by the Northern State University starters in their Sunday sweep of Minnesota Crookston. The Wolves tossed a pair of no hitters and extended their win streak to six games. NSU currently sits third in the league standings behind Augustana and Minnesota Duluth.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Northern scored the lone run of the game for either team in the bottom of the third inning
  • Ashley Fauske kicked things off in the third with a 2-out double to right center; she scored the following at-bat on a passed ball and wayward throw by the UMC catcher
  • The Wolves tallied six hits in the win, and had their opportunities leaving six runners on base, including a bases loaded fourth inning
  • Meghan Anderson threw her best game of the season thus far, striking out 13 in the no-hit victory
  • Only two Golden Eagles reached base via Wolves errors and Anderson earned her ninth win of the season

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Wolves plated their first run of the game in the bottom of the third inning, as Emma Terveer singled up the middle scoring Shelby Novotny
  • Northern broke things open in the fourth and fifth innings, notching seven runs to seal the mercy rule win
  • Scoring for the Wolves in the fourth was Elyse Cuttic (single), Natalie Gabbert (single), and Chanel Siebenthal (single)
  • NSU put up a four spot in the fifth with Rachel Reinke (triple), Fauske (single), Siebenthal (reached on an error), and Makenzie Merritt (single) crossing home plate
  • The Wolves recorded their eight runs on ten hits and gave up one error defensively
  • Elyse Cuttic (9-3) notched a no-hitter in the circle as well, throwing 5.0 complete innings with seven strikeouts
