Wolves Baseball Welcomes Winona State this Weekend

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University baseball team opens their 15-game home stand this Friday and Saturday versus Winona State. First pitch is set for 11 a.m. each day with a doubleheader scheduled on Friday and a 9-inning contest on Saturday.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • The Wolves return to Fossum Field for the first time since 2018 with a 5-7 record overall and 4-4 mark in the NSIC
  • Northern is hitting .195 with 65 hits, 14 doubles, three triples, four homeruns, 32 RBI, and 35 runs scored
  • Reece Ragatz leads the team with a .317 average, notching 13 hits, two doubles, one triple, and one homerun
  • The NSU pitching staff posts a 5.68 ERA through 84.0 innings pitched with 95 strikeouts and a .246 opponent batting average
  • Seth Brewer and Zach Hartford each have two wins on the year, with Brewer leading the starters with a 2.55 ERA
  • Zach Hrvol has a team high 25 strikeouts on the year, throwing the lone complete game shutout for the Wolves

  • The Warriors head to Aberdeen with a 9-6 record overall and 6-4 mark in the league

  • Sam Kohnle leads the team hitting .453 with a team high 24 hits, 15 runs scored, and 14 RBI
  • The Warrior pitching staff posts a 5.33 ERA through 125.0 innings pitched with 158 strikeouts and a .241 opponent batting average
  • Kyle Gendron and Bailey Banazynski lead the team with three and two wins this season, both holding ERAs just over 4.00
  • Banazynski leads the staff with 32 strikeouts, while Nicholas Herold has tossed two saves thus far in 2021
