Nicole Monanian announced today that Mia Fursedonne and Tatum Kipnik (Fernie, British Columbia) will join the 2021-22 Northern State swimmer roster. They will join the class of Brianna Back (Cottage Grove, Wis.), Stella Bullis (Mitchell, S.D.), Fanny Legros (Verviers, Belgium), Haley Osborne (Boise, Idaho), and Alexandra Tómasdóttir (Akureyri, Ireland).
Mia Fursedonne | Orsett, Essex, England | Brentwood School | Free/Back
Mia Fursedonne is a sprinter, swimming the freestyle and backstrokes out of Orsett, Essex, England and the Brentwood School. She is a 7-year starter for her prep program and senior team captain. In 2018. Fursedonne was named the Brentwood's Swimmer of the Year. She is an Essex County Championships, Winter East Region Championships, and British Summer Championships qualifier. She is the daughter of Claire and Matt Fursedonne.
Monanian's Thoughts: "Mia is going to be a strong contributor both in the pool and in the classroom. We are thrilled to be adding another swimmer with international racing experience and her commitment will strengthen our sprinter group."
Tatum Kipnik | Fernie, BC, Canada | Fernie Secondary | Breast/Free
Tatum Kipnik is a breaststroke and freestyle swimmer out of Fernie Secondary School in British Columbia. As a member of the Elk Valley Dolphins Swim Club, Kipnik tallied person bests of 1:14.32 in the 100 breast and 2:42.06 in the 200 breast. She qualified for the B.C. and Manitoba/Saskatchewan provisional meets and the Montana State Championships. She is the daughter of Jera and DJ Kipnik.
Monanian's Thoughts: "Tatum is ranked 10th in British Columbia and is going to be a great addition for our breaststroke depth. We are expecting big time drops from her in her first year and looking forward to having her on the team."
